For Immediate Release

A short documentary by local historians Thomas Gears and Raymond Harrington has received laurels in two film festivals. Their film, The Lost Motion Pictures of Brandywine Springs, is the story of the oldest existing motion pictures filmed in Delaware. Gears and Harrington share these vignettes of Delaware in 1903, put them into context as Delaware history, tell their backstory and the amazing story of how they managed to survive.

Gears and Harrington have been researching local history together for nearly 40 years. They have presented talks at many local venues to support local non-profit organizations. The film is their first foray into making a documentary and the pair hopes it will be a springboard to obtain grants for additional projects they have in the works.
